The Friends of Fort Clinch mission is the preserving of natural and cultural resources, and providing recreational and educational opportunities at Fort Clinch State Park. Friends of Fort Clinch is powered by people who care about preserving Fort Clinch, supporting Fort Clinch State Park, and helping others experience this special place.
Get Involved. Make a Difference. Have Some Fun! |
There are many ways to get involved and you can choose the level of participation that works best for you. Serve as a member of our Board of Directors, volunteer for one of our projects or events, or do both! You don’t have to make a long-term commitment to make a difference. Whether you can give a few hours at an event, lend your skills to a special project, or take on a leadership role, we’d love to have you on our team.

Friends of Fort Clinch sponsors and supports a variety of popular events throughout the year. Volunteers help us welcome visitors, assist with activities, staff information tables, support event setup and cleanup, and much more.
Some of our popular events and activities include:
Help with a Project

Our volunteers also help make special projects possible throughout Fort Clinch State Park.
Through initiatives such as F.O.R.T. – Friends Organizing Restoration Together, volunteers and supporters help us preserve, restore, and enhance important features of the park.
You may have a particular skill you’d like to share—or you may simply be willing to lend a hand. Either way, there’s a place for you.

For those interested in becoming more involved, serving on the Friends of Fort Clinch Board of Directors is another rewarding way to contribute.
Board terms are two years, providing a meaningful opportunity to help guide the organization, develop new ideas, support fundraising and membership efforts, plan projects and events, and work closely with Fort Clinch State Park management to advance our mission. Many of our Board members choose to continue serving well beyond their initial two-year term, bringing valuable experience, continuity, and enthusiasm to the organization.
We’re especially interested in people who enjoy working as part of a team and want to use their experience, talents, and ideas to help Friends of Fort Clinch continue to grow.
And yes—you can be a Board member and still roll up your sleeves and volunteer at our events and projects!
There’s a Place for You
You don’t need to be a historian, reenactor, or longtime member to volunteer. You simply need an interest in Fort Clinch and a willingness to help.
Give a few hours. Help with an event. Join a project. Serve on our Board for a two-year term—or continue serving for many years to come.
However you choose to participate, you’ll be helping preserve Fort Clinch and its history for generations to come.
